I must have been really tired at rehearsal last night, because just now I reached in my totebag and found a book that doesn't belong to me. Un Lun Dun by China Mieville, with a bookmark in the middle. I can see why I would have mistaken it because it's the same size, shape and color as the book of my own that I was reading at rehearsal. Still, that was indeed pretty "special" of me.

I don't have 100% of the cast and crew on my f'list, but if this book is yours or you know who owns it, it's safe and sound and I'll bring it Thursday to the show. Or if you're really jonesing for it I can meet you tonight in Davis to return the ill-gotten goods.

Um, actually that copy of Mieville's seminal work in the field of monovowel composition is mine, actually.

Apparently, you were tired than you thought. Meet me at Hachiko tomorrow night to return it?

Damn me, getting black-out drunk and hopping international flights again. Hope I didn't sneak into the men's capsule hotel this time.

I left it at the church and freaked when I went to finish it at home, last night. I'm so glad you have it!!

D'oh! So sorry I grabbed it without looking more closely at it. The back cover looks exactly like the back cover of the Noel Coward play collection I'm reading. My wee brain must have thought "burnt-orange trade paperback = my book."

I can meet you in Davis after work to give it back (I brought it to work in case the owner wanted it ASAP), or I can bring it to the show tomorrow.

I would love it, tonight, but i wouldn't be anywhere near the davis area until after 8. just bring it tomorrow night if you can? Or, since we've discovered that you work a mere bridge away from me, I could come by and meet you downstairs for a few minutes to make the exchange.

I'll email you if i can escape my desk for that long, today!

Okay. I've got it here, so if you can escape, let me know. Otherwise I'll bring it on Thursday!

I wish other Firsters were as responsive as you. I'm still waiting to get back my copy of Beauty which I left at a T@F gathering in January. Of course, that's partly Bri's fault, but if the person who took it from the event had said something a day or two earlier I could have collected it in person. If I ever misplace a book again, I hope it ends up in your hands!
