I was crossing Berkeley Street when I saw a cluster of three people dressed in all black. Not goth, but just the classic Urban Uniform of black pants, black shirt, black shoes and belt. As I looked at them, I thought "How uninteresting they look in those clothes, how conformist, how very uimaginative and insipid." Then I looked down at my own outfit.

All black.

So the futon sofa is finally assembled, and Chris and I think we might have a party on Saturday October 9th for T@Fers and alumni, after the tech work day. I'd like to make a big pot of spaghetti with different sauces for vegans, veggies, and meatasaurs. Folks can bring beer and beverages and other side items. I'll ask around to make sure its a good weekend for enough people.

I was proud of my chorus girls on Wednesday. This is tough material, by virtue of length definitely but even moreso in the tricky fugue-like delivery of the text. I really really wish we had a script page layout with the parts side by side the way Philip Glass was, but I didn't even think of it until this very minute as I'm typing this. I could have made one if I'd thought of it sooner, but it's too late now as everyone has already marked up their script. I might have to make one for myself though if I'm going to memorize all 3 parts. That's the only way I can assemble this sort of text in my head and have it stay.

I think Elizabeth typed out the whole script, you can ask her for a copy and fix it the way you want it. Might make it easier to memorize? Just problem solving.

Yes, I have the Word file of it. I'm going to do it today. And anyone who wants one can have one.

Last winter at Arisia, there were so many people in some kind of black fetish-wear that after awhile I found myself unconsciously filtering them out. It was a democratic filter; it didn't matter if it was a chubby guy in a Utilikilt or a statuesque blonde in spike heels and latex. After the second dozen, they all started to blend, and eventually I stopped noticing them at all.

Nonconformity suffers when too many people are doing it. :)

I went to Arisia 2 years ago and and felt the same thing. After a while, only the occasional person dressed in ordinary street clothes looked distinctive from the goth-leather-furrie-fetish herd.

Because you wore a white shirt within the past 12 months. These things can't be forgiven.
