I spent much of the weekend having fun with [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit and his fantastic parents, [livejournal.com profile] silverlibre and [livejournal.com profile] ka9sqb. We had a fabulous dinner at Mother Anna's in the North End (yummy old-school North End Italian, and I highly recommend their roomy outdoor dining area), went to the August Moon festival in Chinatown and had dim sum, went on a duck boat tour, and more. It's been great getting to know them! They're full of endless energy and love trying new things. I'll be having dinner again tonight, and tomorrow they begin their long train journey back to Illinois. I hope [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit and I can go visit them sometime.

This morning I went to the chiropractor for my first adjustment (Thank you [livejournal.com profile] lillibet for the referral). She showed me my x-rays, and apparently I have an old spinal injury that contributed to the more recent one. I don't recall any long-ago injury, but there it was on the x-ray. Getting the adjustment was very quick, though I squawked loudly (I hope that's normal and I'm not being a big baby). Then the massage therapist worked on me for a bit, and I was on my way. I'll be going back for several weeks.

I’m so happy you’ve gotten to meet them, and that we’ve all been able to spend so much time together! Love you, sweetie!

What did the old spinal injury look like?

Hope the chiropractor visit helps!

Thank you for including me in so much of the visit, honeywuzzle! Your parents are as wonderful as you are!

The old injury involved two disks very low on the spine that have been squashed together at a weird angle for a long time. Apparently there is supposed to be more of a curve to my lower spine than there is. She wants to fix that.

Maybe if I ask she will e-mail me my x-rays. Then you can look at me from the inside. :-)

When I started chiropractic, I squawked all the time. The chiropractor, who had an odd sense of humor, used to comment, "Great noises! We love those noises!"
