DNC

Last night beowabbit and I went to a DNC watching party at The Precinct Bar in Union Square. It was a really great way to watch, there with lots of other excited supporters. At first I was afraid we wouldn't be able to hear because eveyone was talking, but they quieted down for the key speeches. We got to chat with a few other supporters, and beowabbit bought me a "Hot For Barack" tank top. The speeches were inspiring and invigorating, and by the end of Obama's nomination acceptance speech, my hands were sore from clapping so hard. I missed some speeches on the nights before, but I did catch Hillary's awesome speech on Youtube, and intend to look for Bill's and Teddy Kennedy's. The newest addition to my political crush list is the amazing, ass-kicking Joe Biden, who I didn't know much about until he was picked.

McSame just made his Veep pick. She's just a young chickadee, the same age as me, with not a whole lot more experience than me, either! And with 5 school-age children and violently neo-con positions on the issues. I'm going to love watching our Joe mop the floor with her.

My friend Jeff's cow-orker just coined the term VPILF. I think he meant it for the former Miss Wasilla, but it sounds like you could use it for Joe.

I'm not terribly fond of that gesture--it's a little too creepy old man cruising for college girls. Hey there, little girl, wanna ride Amtrak with me...

But seriously, I didn't know anything about him before Wednesday, and he seems like a pretty cool guy. Not the best speaker, but eh.

Joe doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would chase schoolgirls. He doesn't have that kind of creepy vibe. (And he has a hot MILFy wife!) But I can see what you mean about the gesture itself. But I still think its fun. :-)

I thought about giving you a call last night to see what you were doing, but instead I went to BarackObama.com and found a backyard TV-watching party on Hollis Street, a couple blocks from me. That was fun, too.

Oh yes, I heard great things about that speech. I'll make a point to find it and watch.
