This was just a great, great weekend. It kicked off with The Slutcracker, which I've already posted about, but it deserves a another shout out because it ROCKED and was the talk of the town all weekend, and [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit grabbed [livejournal.com profile] surrealestate and went back for a second helping last night.

Saturday I had sweetie time and breakfast with my honeywuzzle in the morning, and the evening brought a fabulous annual party hosted by the elegantly rakish [livejournal.com profile] majes and Co. That one has become a favorite of mine. The lace-up front of my black party dress isn't, um, fitting the same as it usually does (I do need to get to the gym), but nobody complained.

A huge treat came on Sunday, when [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit and I and attended and participated in a T@F one-act play reading. I had the honor of having my own play read by the talented [livejournal.com profile] gilana, [livejournal.com profile] eclecticavatar, and Andy L. (does he have an LJ?). That was completely thrilling, and I even felt nervous flutters beforehand, but it seemed to go over generally well. [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit and I were also paired to read a different play, and though I don't think I'm allowed to discuss play details, I'm proud to say I have now voiced a character named "Squishy." Oh happy Dagger! ;-)

The only thing not perfect about the weekend was my on-and-off bad back, but that's become a regular part of life and I try not to let it spoil things. And indeed, it didn't. I could use many more weekends like this.

Andy is [livejournal.com profile] barumonkey, although he very rarely posts.

And I think I posted it in my LJ already (brain is still in groggy Monday mode, so I have no recollection of things I've done this morning), but I really liked your play and I'm so impressed that this was your first attempt at a one-act.

Thank you! I'm so happy that you enjoyed it!

I've actually done a lot of other kinds of writing, including for the stage, but never a 10-minute comedy of this sort. The plays I wrote in my 20s were angry and angsty. Writing a comedy was a lot more fun. I'm totally writing more!
