Looking out the office window at the construction workers hundreds of feet up on the scaffolding is majorly triggering my acrophobia. I want to yell "Get down from there! All of you!" I can't just apply my acrophobia to myself -- my brain automatically projects it upon others, too. But they're probably just enjoying their work day in the beautiful sunshine and not thinking at all about FALLING TO THEIR DEATHS.

I used to work in a huge office tower and I'd get totally freaked out by the window cleaners. They would fly past my window or hit the window with their hands and I'd jump every time.

I hope they get paid lots of $$.

I imagine they get paid pretty well and are heavily insured (but then, what good is insurance when you're splattered?). You couldn't pay me enough to go up there. I can't even go on most amusement park rides if they go up high.

I'm just thankful someone can go up there and that it doesn't have to be me.

And then there's the cross-product of this post and the NOM posts:

Wow, that would so totally trigger my acrophilia! I wouldn’t be able to get any work done because I’d be fantasizing about being up there.

I have a fair bit of acrophilia too. It dissipated a bit when I learned my knees are weak. But still, hanging lights and posters/banners from on high used to be mah thang.

I hope you were intentionally playing this for laughs, because I laughed out loud at "I want to yell 'Get down from there! All of you!'"

If you weren't intentionally playing it for laughs, er, um, then I apologize. :-)

I have to have a sense of humor about my acrophobia. That way, I can keep it just an inconvenience and not a handicap.
