This afternoon is my company's annual holiday party. Since I don't yet know very many people, I signed up to work the raffle table. It affords exposure to the maximum number of people without my having to interject myself into the conversations of folks who don't know me. I find that once people know my name, they remember it and for some reason like saying it. They go "MAAAAAARE!" when I enter a conversation or a room. But before being introduced, I seem not to make much of an impression based on sight alone.

Doing something functional at the party makes sense also, since I don't drink alcohol at work-related events (T@F obviously doesn't count). Those who know me know why. Yup, that's just what me need -- me in the corner making out with some busty editress, or with an 18-year-old mail room boy. I'll stick to ginger ale.

And later of course is the read-thru for Tally's Folly. A number of folks will be there who I haven't seem face to face in a long time, and a fun read, I'm certain. I keep forgetting that it's an audition. But I also consider it an audition not just for this show but for general consideration for any number of future shows, be they what they may. Another reason to stay out of the champagne at the party. :-)

eh heh. my department's holiday party is next monday evening at davio's across from the cambridgeside galleria. it was there last year too. i got drunk. it was....funny. i don't think i was truly noticeably drunk while at the party itself, but then a bunch of us went to the cheesecake factory at the galleria. i was definitely noticeably drunk there. we walked around a bit waiting for our table. went into the apple store. i sent my roommate an email being like "ohmygod i'm SO DRUNK!@!!" or something.

quite amusing. this year i think i'm going to stay sober.

I behave much to uninhibitedly when drinking to be around co-workers!

My department party is Thursday afternoon at McCormack & Schicks. No alcohol. But at night is an executive team cocktail party at the Somerset Club. Yes alcohol.

But enough of me. Let's go back to you. Do you typically make out with busty women and 18-year-old boys when drunk (you, not the boys)?

I guess you didn't stay long enough at [livejournal.com profile] pheromone's on Saturday....;-)

No real 18 y/o boys. Well, actually yes, back when I was 35. I'm more into 20 year-olds-now.
