beowabbit and I went to see
Yeomen of the Guard by the MIT Gilbert & Sullivan Players last night. It's so nice to have theatre right at our workplace. A fine job by all, and congratulations to cast members
hammercock,
greenlily and the ever astonishing John D.(is he on LJ?) who gave the best drag performance in a musical that I've ever seen! I believe they have two more performances, so I recommend it. :-)

Date: 2011-05-06 06:36 pm (UTC)And I was watching you an L in the chorus being awesome! I noted that there were 3 distinct groups of women in the chorus, each group costumed differently. What were those groups?

Date: 2011-05-06 06:55 pm (UTC)I'd love to be in one of their choruses, but I can only just barely read music, and can't sight read at all. But being in the audience is plenty fun.

Date: 2011-05-06 06:45 pm (UTC)Our groupings are as follows: Scullery maids (me and others with the headwraps), the local highborn women (GL and others with the nice hats), and the, um, "camp followers" (women standing next to us scullery maids). :)

Date: 2011-05-06 07:00 pm (UTC)Hee, camp followers. Someone I was in the PMRP Halloween show with told us that the song "She'll Be Coming 'Round The Mountain" is about camp followers. I looked up the lyrics and I think he's right.
Grand job, all of you!
