New Year, New Coat

Not being a New Years resolution kind of person, I resolve only one practical and simple thing for 2012:
I will not smoke while wearing my new L.L.Bean parka.

I didn't realize it when I bought it online, but it's stuffed with real goose down (Poor geese! I hope someone ate them so at least the whole animals got used). With this kind of nylon shell, one teeny, tiny spark will melt a big ugly hole in it (ask my nylon jogging pants how I know that), and unlike fiberfill, this stuffing will fall out! I can't afford a new coat every year, and this one has to last me through several winters. So if you see me puffing while wearing an ankle-length parka, you have the green light to glare at me in judgement!

Perhaps you need one of these. But if this resolution cuts down on your smoking, that's a Good Thing.

I'm so glad you got the down filled. Our comforter is down filled. [Thank you darling daughter.] My winter coat is down filled. On really cold days it will make you quite the happy camper.
