Wet Ears

I dreamed that my colleagues and I were forced to sing karaoke as a team-building exercise (I'm sure this has actually happened to many others in real life). We didn't get to pick our songs -- they were assigned according to how management felt they might help us improve as team members. The song I was given was called "Wet Ears." I had never even heard of it before and had no idea how the melody went. Also, it was a duet by a country-western husband/wife duo, and I would have to sing both parts, and I hate country western to begin with.

I spent the dream waiting and wondering how I would make it through the song, when this was not a karaoke situation where it was okay to suck. I was saved before getting to my turn by the pestery paws of BenBen, waking me up at 5:00AM. For once, I appreciated it.

This sounds like a wholesale nightmare to me...or the next iteration of Office Space. Or both.

Ha! I love weird dreams. Was BenBen licking your ears to wake you? :-)

Oh, timely! Over in Slate.com, the advice columnist heard from a woman who's started working at a company that rewards extremely good work by an employee by...

...brace yourself...

...assembling everybody in the lobby, giving a little speech and having the good employee do a DANCE.

I think that between those two choices, a lot of people I know would go with your karaoke.
