Happy: Archie Update
Mar. 5th, 2012 01:35 pmThe protested-by-One-Million-Moms issue of Archie comics celebrating the gay marriage of character Kevin has sold out, according to its publisher!
"Kevin will always be a major part of Riverdale, and we’re overjoyed, honored and humbled by the response to this issue,” said Jon Goldwater, Co-CEO of Archie Comics. “Our fans have come out full force to support Kevin. He is, without a doubt, the most important new character in Archie history. He’s here to stay.”
Take that, haters! I see copies are going on eBay for like $30-$50. Too bad I never got to see the issue myself. But I'm happy for this progressive publisher. I remember an issue from my childhood in the 1970s when women's liberation first came to Riverdale High. (Maybe they should bring that particular theme back around right about now). So grateful they're continuing their tradition of forward thinking and inclusivity for younger generations.
