Box turtles make nice pets. We had a pair of them when I was very tiny. The turtles were tiny, too! I think they were given to a new home when my parents divorced.
I found the picture on Daily Kos. I don't think the author of the article said where they lived (it was too long to read all of it at work). But I presume it was somewhere in the US or Canada.
