Now that my amazement has had time to distill...

I’ve been cast in All In The Timing at T@F. I am still in shock, and beyond elated. When I didn’t land a callback, I was certain it was "thanks but no thanks." What I didn’t know was that director Shayna Ross had already singled me out and cast me without a callback. A week of sulking and despair ended on a reverberating high note.

What’s funny is that the news just kept getting better and better. After Tuesday’s auditions, I pestered roommate Chris (T@F house manager and PA for auditions) until he was near to swatting me with a rolled up newspaper. Honor bound him to stay tight lipped until Thursday night, when he finally said "Call Erika."

I did, and got the astounding news that not only had I been cast, but I’d been cast in the one-act "Philip Glass Buys A Loaf of Bread." This was the play I hadn’t dared even hope for, because it was by far my favorite of the bunch. It’s a fugue piece, written to simulate to music of Philip Glass with voice. As if that weren’t good enough, two of my good friends from R&G were also cast in the same one act, as well as a new girl whose audition impressed me immensely. Provided they all accept the roles, it will be a fantastic cast to be working with.

This opportunity means so much to me, and I can’t even describe how happy and excited I am right now. This is... good. :-)

SEEEEE????!?

Let that be a lesson to all you actors. When the directors say "Just because you haven't been called back doesn't mean you're not cast," they MEAN IT! :+)

Congratulations, Sweetie.

*blush* I sent a glum reply to Erika's "no callback" message. I was sure I wasn't cast. Now I'm bouncing at the prospect of being in "Glass." This is going to be a great show.

Thanks so much! I hope you'll come see it. Or if you're interested in stage crew & stuff, we always need that. :-)

Ditto Ditto to what [livejournal.com profile] lillibet said. And because I can tell you now, all your castmates have accepted their roles as well. You all are going to be FANTASTIC.

I am SO happy I got to be the person who offered you the role. Between your reaction and [livejournal.com profile] derspatchel's, well, it almost made up for having to send the "sorry, we couldn't cast you" email to others. Almost.

Congratulations. And ditto what [livejournal.com profile] kalisti23 said too. You're awesome.

It's weird, because I usually don't allow myself to express hope for things, even if I feel it inside. Most of the time I pretend things don't matter much to me, to hide that vulnerability. But then sometimes good surprises like this come along and... well, it feel good to be happy again.
