We'll be performing a few of the one acts on the church lawn later this afternoon (89 College Ave, corner of Francesca). Come on down and catch a free sample of the festival. Tickets will be available for sale. Starting around 2:00-ish.
Right now I'm goddamning myself for committing to multiple hours in the bright sun and heat. All I really care about is not dying of heat stroke, and I don't know how I'm going to do that. I wish ArtBeat was in May. Last night I went down and enjoyed the evening portion of ArtBeat, and that was great because the sun was down and it had cooled off. I ran into Lou and we got Indian dinners from the Diva cart and watched some great bands before I headed back for the closing plays. But now it's deadly daytime, when on workdays I'm safe in the AC and on weekends I generally stay indoors or under shelter somewhere between 11:00 AM and sundown. A lady is bringing down a beach unbrella and a stand under which I can sell tickets, which is helpful (thank you Beckie for thinking to ask about that.) And the larger of my two parasols. For those of you reading who don't live in Boston, never think that it doesn't broil like a kiln here in summer.
