Assorted Doings
Jun. 28th, 2007 02:23 pmLast night we had the first full off-book run-through of the festival plays. It was great to see what the other casts were up to and how the directors had shaped their plays. No spoilers, but I can tell you that there are some hilarious moments in there, and some touching ones, too. Last night's lineup order is only tentative, but the way we did it, Cabfare was last. Going in that order, I am the last character to appear, in the last play of the night, entering in the last part of the play. U HAS 2 WAIT 4 ME!
There was a huge amount of talent up there, but I have to give an extra shout-out to
urban_faerie_, who simply rocks. I've only ever seen her in bit parts and walk-ons, and this was the first time I was able to see what she's really capable of. She is a true comic natural. She's hysterically funny, but can also nail the poignient moments well. TVland should build a sit-com around her.
Afterwards, I got to hang out with
pheromone on my balcony, where we hit the tequilla!

I'm wearing a shirt today at work that is entirely out of character for me. It's white with pale blue anime-style flowers. It's got this "soccer mom who never grew out of Hello Kitty" cuteness that is so un-me for clothing (black or jewel tones only, usually). I guess I just liked the cut, so I bought it when I was shopping for a costume top yesterday. But it's a little tight across the bust, and I'm getting that pulled gap between buttons peek-a-boob thing that I hate. Apologies to colleagues who've had to accidentally see my black bra. (I should have saved it for Assets Friday.)

Kendall Square: so close yet so far. I need to deposit several checks in an MIT Credit Union ATM (they have no ATM's off-campus) only accessible to me before 6:00PM due to no longer having MIT ID. In pleasant weather it would be a very nice one-mile walk and another back. But in this soggy furnace heat, I can't bear it. Will skip it today, but tomorrow I have to go like-it-or-not. Really, really time to switch to a normal bank like Wainright.
