Lunch From The Farmer's Market
Jul. 31st, 2008 01:23 pmIt's farmer's market day in Kendall Square. It might be the tiniest farmer's market in the world, but those 6 or 7 stalls of goodness are sure appreciated by me every Thursday.
Right now I'm eating gooseberries for the first time ever. I love the flavor, but the texture takes some getting used to. Inside the grape-like skin, it's sort of like tangy mashed potatoes. With seeds. It would make good jam, I think.
I also scored some garlic pesto sauce for
beowabbit from a local garlic farm. It's the garlic-lovers strength (they had a lesser garlic variety as well), so I think it will suit his garlocentric taste.
And my show opens tonight!
