Taking an afternoon nap just isn't worth it if, in one dream alone, you:

1) Got punched in the face by a man who thought you taught his daughter a swear word.

2) Somehow forgot that the T doesn't go to Vermont, screwing up the weekend plans.

3) Lost your cell phone, then found it but now it has razor-sharp edges and you can't use it.

4) Discover that one of your friends had all his favorite URLs tattooed on his neck.

5) Went to a combination library/liquor store and ended up in the back room with a cult.

6) Found a bowling alley in the combination library/liquor store that was booby-trapped with secret sliding lanes for the rapist/bowlers to catch sexual victims in.

I mean really, all this generated by my own mind. No more naps after Indian brunch. The body is rested, but the brain is toast.

I wish the whole country was webbed with subway. I once dreamed the T went to Europe, but it had no bathroom so I was waffling over weather I should risk a ride that long with coffee in me.

This sounds disturbingly like the dreams I had after the not-quite-good fresh summer roll. Ouch. Soothing pats of the Mare.

Though, i'll admit, the idea of a library/cocktail lounge has a certain appeal.

I'd love a library that served alcohol. I know what I'd do -- start geeking over atlases, like I often do. Get buzzed and start dreaming of all the places I wanted to go.

Quite humorously, the person in the dream with his favorite URLs tattooed to his neck was none other than [livejournal.com profile] mangosteen. The URLs were inside black diamond-shapes, spaced in a horizontal row. Some of the URLs were really long and illegibly small inside the diamonds. I was thinking how utterly pointless this all was, since the websites surely won't be around for life, but I didn't say anything because he seemed strongly committed that this was an excellent idea.

*shudder* Nap dreams call my sanity into question fairly often.

next best thing?

My parents met in a bar called The Library. It's in Atlanta, though.

I admit, at first I didn't see that this was a dream, and the first thing I was gonna ask you was, "Hmm. What URL's did your friend get?"

Heh. In the dream I didn't see them close enough, but they all carried the superfluous preface http://.

Years ago I dreamed that another friend had musical tattoos -- shaped like small vinyl LPs, with music embedded. The only way to play the music was to lick the tattoos.

I took a nap, too (when I finally got home), though if I had any dreams, my memory of them disappeared when I was woken up by the phone.

I can use #6 in a story...
