The first read-through of the radio dramas went very well. I'm still reeling over the fact that I have a lead role that I don't have to memorize! The play is "The Monkey's Paw." I love working in the accent, and the high emotional impact of the play. I've never done horror drama before.

But boy, did I ever have the heebie-jeebies both during and after the rehearsal. Between the last two plays I went to the creepy mini-bathroom upstairs and was jumpy as a cat. Coming home earlier than [livejournal.com profile] vanguardcdk, I was afraid to open the apartment door, and wouldn't go in until I'd called the cats over. Those plays are scary.

Tonight I'm cooking pesto chicken & pasta for [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit, who's coming over after work for dinner and coziness ("coziness" is a euphemism you can read anything you like into.). I haven't cooked all summer. I have way more stage fright about it than I do about acting. :-)

Sorry I missed your read-through! I really wanted the chance to meet the author of the Margaret Ghost. Plus, honestly, I'm such a wimp, I'm a little afraid to listen to your show!

I wondered where you'd gotten to!

Not vary many people were still there by the time we read. S'okay though, it'll give you something new to watch at the next full-show rehearsal. :-)

I was very pleased with all three shows' readings. I was particularly impressed with how well everyone in The Maid's Bell seemed to just melt into their roles.

And finally getting to hear the cast of The Monkey's Paw do the last several scenes just gave me the chills. I was amazed at how well [livejournal.com profile] cristoforou rendered his lines in those latter pages without any vocal aids at all. We figured he'd need cotton dental pads at least to achieve the sound we need, but he did it just fine. The two of you were very good together, too, which bodes well for the audience's response to the play. I think it's going to be awesome!
