It won't surprise anyone that [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit and I went on a date to see a kid's movie. Ratatouille is made of awesome. It's the best animated film I've seen in many years, an instant classic. See it on the big screen while you can. You'll laugh, fall in love, never think of rats the same way again, and learn that anyone can cook.

Geek Fact: The distinctive, layered version of ratatouille served in the climax scene was created for the movie by famed chef Thomas Keller of The French Laundry. The recipe is probably out there somewhere.

I often love kids movies. They feel like waterfalls to me. And I want very much to see Ratatouille.

It was funny that I saw a reference to this dish in an episode of Monk (near the end of Season 3). I saw the movie before I saw the episode so it was amusing. The animation was very well done and VERY ratlike. the fact that I have 2 rats (Cotter and SQUEAK, Death of Rats) was the main reason why me and my sweetie went to see it (she's a vet and helped me get my rats). If you have a fat rat, when they sit up, they look just like the ones in the movie. Mine cannot cook but they are cute ;) - http://www.bagelfather.com/gallery/gallery_family/rats/album_rats.htm

It is a very well done film I agree. I also went to see it because I worked on two student films with one of the animators for that movie (yay Andrew!) back in my college days.

Aww, your rats are so cute! I don't know how anyone can not like rats. Even when I see a wild rat, I think they're cute. My sweetie spotted on as we were coming home from Ratatouille!
