I think I'm drawn to men who enjoy unorthodox combinations of flavors. I was telling [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit about a man I once loved who liked to make garlic hummus with blueberries mixed in. That's a very alien idea to my palate, but [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit thought the dish sounded totally delicious.

Or, maybe those men are drawn to me. I am, after all, a highly unorthodox combination of weird things. :-)

So I'll pose the question to you, my hungry readers:

Well, being a half-Jew brings together all sorts of contrasting things in one person. Both my Jewish side and my goy side are evident in many ways, depending on the context. I used to hate that I didn't fit completely on one side or the other. Now I like being mixed.

I'm a liberal sprung from a moderately-conservative family. While the vast majority of my opinions are lefty, I do have a few that could arguably be called slightly conservative, such as my opinion that more effort should be put into the prevention of welfare abuse. There are a small handful of Republicans who I like and respect, like Colin Powell and Arlen Specter. So whole I'm certainly not half-and-half on my socio-political stances, I'm not 100% liberal on a few subjects.

I guess those are both rather lame testimony to the "I'm weird" arguement, since there are a bajillion half-Jews and non-extreme liberals out there, but I'm at work and couldn't think of anything else!
