Tomes of Terror finished it's run last night, and it was a smashing success. we sold out every night, and even had a waiting list (I hope some of them did get in). The shows ran smoothly, and I had an awesome time doing foley (live sound effects). There were lots of old friends who I'm always delighted to work with, and I also met great new people who I hope will come back to work with us again. It was especially satisfying to see my Wabbit take to the stage for the first time since his teens.

There are too many incredible participants who made this happen to list them all, but I do have to give a special shout out to [livejournal.com profile] audioboy, for being at the helm under stressful conditions and for pulling it off like a rabbit out of a magic hat. Thank you for being the core of this crazy and wonderful project, and for being wonderful you.

This post was brought to you by Jell-o and Jell-o Pudding. :-)

So was this the event for which you were researching period treat food? What did you wind up serving?

Yes, the research was for this event. I ran out of energy and just made peanut butter cookies, but the hit of the consession stand was Jell-o!

Congrats and Brava

Wish I could have heard it? When will the CD
be out?
And I'm curious, too: what were the period
foods -- ladyfingers?

I ended up just making peanut butter cookies (a timeless treat if ever there was one), but the real hit at the consession stand turned out to be Jell-o products. In the episode of the radio comedy Baby Snooks that we did, Jell-o and Jell-o Pudding are the sponsors, and there's heavy product placement in the story. When the actor playing the announcer went off on his lengthy descriptions of the deliciousness of the product, we all found ourselves craving some. Jay came up with the idea of selling the pre-packaged cups of Jell-o and Jell-o Pudding and we stocked up the consession stand with them. The audience went for it big time!

I don't think there will be a CD, but I expect there will be a podcast available in a couple of weeks. I'll link it here when its ready!
