Mom made it through the surgery just fine! I talked to her and she sounded really good, not even all doped up. And just as I knew he would, my brother called me and said "Mom didn't make it through the surgery." He's still a buttface and I'm glad I hit him so often when we were kids. ;-) But he's awesome for everything he's doing to help mom through this.

So, all's well that ends well. I bet she's dying to smoke, but I don't think they're going to allow that for now. Hopefully her patches will help. [livejournal.com profile] beowabbit and I sent her some beautiful flowers.

Thank you everybody for all the good wishes and assurances. I think this is going to turn out a lot less traumatic than I'd thought.

Awesome! I'm glad that this weight is off your shoulders.

Also, your mom is now a cyborg, and that's pretty cool.

I understand how terribly anxious it can be when a loved one is in surgery, and how relieving it can be when everything turns out fine, as expected.

Somehow I didn't read this before I saw you at the meetup, or I would have congratulated you in person. Glad she's doing well!
