A different article pointed out that people are aware of how increasingly public and permanent mug shots are on the internet. So since everyone is going to see it, why look mean? [citation needed]

Maybe there really isn't such a thing as bad publicity!

I have a co-worker who routinely checks out the on-line Ada County mug shots. He always says he's looking for old friends.
