High Five

We went to a fabulous, fabulous party last night -- a bon voyage for srakkt, who will be deploying to Afghanistan shortly with the Marine Reserves. I had the best time I've had at a party in ages. (Recently I haven't so much been enjoying the parties I've been going to, but this one reminded me that they can still be great fun with the right mix of people.) Lots and lots of Firsties, and there was even an appearance by a Firstie 2.0, now six months old and very much a party girl.

srakkt, we're so proud of you. Thank you for what you're doing, and I look forward to more high fives when you come home safe and sound!

I'm sorry I missed that--would have liked to have been there but I didn't know about it. It's probably better that I didn't in some ways, since my sister was visiting Boston with her girlfriend and I haven't see her since Halloween, but still might have liked to have known about it.
