To Rochester
Dec. 21st, 2004 10:06 amTomorrow morning, way too early, I'm off to Logan for the yearly family visit to Rochester. It's actually not even Rochester itself, but a far-flung suburb 20-minutes from Rochester called Pittsford. My suburbophobia kicks in hard when I'm there, the house in which my angst-ridden teens were spent. They'll have a pretty tree though, and at least this year I will be spared the brutal Chrismas Eve at my brother's quasi-wife's house in the bleakest of all bleak housing tracts in Webster, NY. I won't even go into that; I'm just glad it's not on the agenda. My mother adopted four little kittens earlier this year, and I'll much prefer their company. :-)
One difficult part of these holiday visits is that I will be without Internet access for 5 days, an eternity to me unless I decide to walk the two miles up the road to the strip mall where there's a Kinko's with Internet access -- $24/hour. The ironic thing is, I probably will do it. I have no other choice, since I can't access e-mail from my current cell phone. I can live without LJ but I must have my e-mail.
I had such a funny self-depricating post composed in my head about all the humorous mid-life crisis things I did this past year, but I'm at work and just not able to stay focused while splicing LJ with incoming work. More soon.
