The trouble with freelance writing is that even if you don't feel inspired, you still have to do the writing anyway. Even if you were initially very excited to take the assignment, that excitement can wear off quickly when you're looking at a blank page and a deadline. There is no way I could do this as anything more than an occasional side gig.

This is, of course, kinda true of working for a living in all its forms...

First draft completed and submitted. He loved it! Just a few edits. It's a great feeling when you're done and satisfied with your work, but the doing of it is a bitch.

Hey, congrats!

I had to submit (online) my first paper for grad school by midnight tonight. I got it done and submitted by 8:30pm, which made me feel super awesome. But I did spend about 6 hours angsting about getting it done!!

I think that is part of the reason I don't look into freelance writing seriously and just do some writing on the Internet when I feel like it.

This client sort of just dropped in my lap, and I don't have any others. But I needed the money.

A blank page and a deadline.
Most ominous words indeed,
Been there, suffered that.
